The final ruling for the incident involving Washington Wizards guard Isaiah Thomas has been handed down.
In a matchup between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Wizards on Saturday night, Thomas went into the stands to confront two fans who made some obscene gestures at him and also used some obscene language. The result was him being ejected from the game, a Sixers 125-108 win, and the Sixers then acted by banning the fans from the Wells Fargo Center for 12 months.
The NBA then came down with their ruling as they suspended Thomas for two games for his actions. The league has a strict rule about going into the stands as they want to keep it a safe environment for everybody involved.
NBA statement: “NBA rules state that any player who deliberately enters the spectator stands during a game will be automatically ejected and subject to a fine and/or suspension.”
76ers have banned the fans involved from their arena for one year. https://t.co/dfsIf7eVtm
