All NBA games will officially be suspended indefinitely beginning Thursday, the league said in a statement.
This news comes after Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert tested positive for the coronavirus prior to the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
The NBA confirmed in the statement that a Jazz player had been infected with COVID-19, but did not confirm which.
“The test result was reported shortly prior to the tip-off of tonight’s game … At that time, tonight’s game was cancelled.”
The Thunder and Jazz were moments away from tipoff when the head of the medical staff for the organization ran to the officials, forcing the game to pause.
The players were told to head to the locker room. Just before 7:40 p.m., the game was postponed.

The NBA statement said the affected player was not at the arena Wednesday night.
Nevertheless, the teams and locker rooms were quarantined following the game postponement, according to The Athletic’s Tony Jones.
