The NBA announced on Thursday it had rescinded a technical foul handed to Josh Giddey in the Oklahoma City Thunder’s 112-117 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Monday.
The 21-year-old wanted a technical foul at the 0:58 mark of the second quarter wiped off the ledger. The removal puts Giddey back to zero technical fouls this season. A player needs 16 technical fouls to be suspended for a game. After the 16th, every additional two technicals will result in another one-game suspension.
Considering Giddey only has two technical fouls in his career, the risk of losing him for a game seems low. In eight games this season, he has averaged 12.1 points on 39.8% shooting, 5.9 rebounds and 4.5 assists.
Josh Giddey’s (OKC) technical foul at 0:58 of the 2nd qtr on 11/6/23 has been rescinded upon league office review.
