No. 2 seed Boston squandered a 62-54 halftime lead in game No. 1 of the NBA Eastern Conference finals Tuesday.
The Celtics lost at top-seeded Miami, 118-107.
Former Vol Grant Williams started and played 34 minutes for the Celtics. He recorded seven points, two assists, one rebound and one steal.
Williams, a two-time Southeastern Conference Player of the Year and 2019 first-round NBA draft pick, was 2-for-5 from the floor and 1-for-3 in three-point attempts. He was 2-for-2 from the free throw line.
The series resumes Thursday in Miami. Tipoff is slated for 8:30 p.m. EDT.
The game will be televised by ESPN.
