Just a few weeks after getting involved in a high-profile on-court spat with Shannon Sharpe in Los Angeles, Memphis’ Dillon Brooks sparked a heated altercation with Cleveland’s Donovan Mitchell on Thursday night.
After driving to the basket to attempt a layup, Brooks crashed to the floor, rolled over and thrust his fist upward in an unnatural motion, in an apparent attempt to hit Mitchell.
The Cavs’ star responded by throwing the ball at Brooks, and then delivered a shove to Brooks’ chest. Both players were ejected from the game, and Mitchell called for the NBA to assess additional penalties to Brooks after the Cavs completed a 128-113 victory.
TNT commentator Reggie Miller somehow thought Mitchell “was the aggressor” after seeing the replay for the first time.
I can not stop laughing at Reggie Miller siding with Brooks as we watch him sock Donovan Mitchell in the groin pic.twitter.com/2slP7ssbl6
