NBA G League Ignite: How Jalen Green, others performed in season debut

With the first game in the books for the Ignite, Rookie Wire took a look at how each of the high-profile prospects performed on Wednesday.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — On Wednesday, the 2021 NBA G League season tipped off with five-star prospects Jalen Green, Jonathan Kuminga and the rest of the Ignite roster facing the Santa Cruz Warriors.

13-year NBA veteran Jarrett Jack produced a game-high 23 points to lead the Ignite to a 109-104 victory over the Warriors at AdventHealth Arena, while Kuminga had 19 points and Daishen Nix chipped in 12 points.

The contest marked the professional debut of the Ignite, which boasts several former high school stars, such as Green, Kuminga and Isaiah Todd. The team will play 15 games under the direction of head coach Brian Shaw throughout the season from the Wide World of Sports Complex.
