NBA fines Sixers star Joel Embiid $25,000 for Triple-H celebration vs. Nets

The NBA has fined Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid $25,000 for his Triple-H celebration in the win over the Brooklyn Nets.

Things have not been going well for Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid the past few days. On Thursday, he learned he wouldn’t be starting the All-Star game in Utah on Feb. 19. Now, he learned he is being fined for a celebration.

In Wednesday’s 137-133 win over the Brooklyn Nets, which was an emotionally-charged game featuring the first Embiid vs. Ben Simmons matchup, the big fella had a big and-1 late for the Sixers. Considering how big of a moment it was, Emhiid pulled out the Triple-H celebration in which he thrusts a few times after the play.

The NBA announced on Friday that Embiid will be fined $25,000 for the celebration.

Embiid is assumably not worried about the fine. He has always been an outspoken guy who lets his personality shine when the time calls for it. As the Sixers move forward, they will take more games like this to assure their success.
