The Philadelphia 76ers were able to get a huge lift on Friday when superstar big man Joel Embiid was able to battle his way through a concussion and an orbital fracture as well as a torn ligament in his thumb to lift the Sixers to a Game 3 win over the Miami Heat.
However, things were a little strange regarding Embiid going into this game. The big fella did clear concussion protocol in a timely manner, but the Sixers still listed him as out for Game 3. They also said that things could change before the game and they did.
Philadelphia then listed Embiid as doubtful for the game before they ruled that he would play in Game 3. The NBA was not happy with the way they handled things and they fined the Sixers $50,000 for failing to disclose his injury status in a timely manner.

The Sixers won’t have to worry about that as much for Game 4 as the big fella will most likely just be made available for that one.
