NBA fines Nets for violating league policy regarding injury reporting

The NBA has dished out a punishment to the Brooklyn Nets for violating a league policy.

Even before the NBA went on hiatus, the Brooklyn Nets had already dealt with more than their share of injuries. Then before they made their way down to the bubble, the Nets lost multiple players to injuries and positive COVID-19 tests.

Since getting down to the bubble, the Nets lost Michael Beasley after he tested positive for COVID-19, sat Caris LeVert (left thigh contusion) and Joe Harris (right hamstring and lower back soreness) out for their game against the Milwaukee Bucks, and saw Jamal Crawford (left hamstring strain) go down while making his Brooklyn debut.

Apparently, somewhere along the way, the Nets made a mistake in handling one of these injuries with the league. Because, the NBA announced on Thursday that the Nets had been fined $25,000 for “failing to comply with league policies governing injury reporting.”

The league did not specify which injury report from the Nets led to the fine.
