Boston held Golden State to 16 points in the fourth quarter en route to posting a 120-108 victory at Chase Center in San Francisco, California.
Former University of Tennessee basketball player Grant Williams appeared off the bench for Boston against the Warriors.
Williams played 16 minutes and did not score.
The No. 22 pick in the 2019 NBA draft, recorded three rebounds and three assists.
Williams was 0-for-2 from the field and 0-for-1 from beyond the 3-point arc.
The series continues with game No. 2 Sunday in San Francisco. Tipoff is slated for 8 p.m. EDT and the contest will be televised by ABC.
