NBA fans were upset with Anthony Davis for his terrible foul that lengthened awful play-in game

No one wanted to see more of this game, but Davis delivered it anyway.

In Tuesday night’s play-in game, the Los Angeles Lakers didn’t wrestle control from the Minnesota Timberwolves until the final moments.

After Dennis Schröder nailed a last-second three to give Los Angeles a very late 98-95 lead, it seemed like the Lakers would at least prevail in a play-in game of terrible quality.

Anthony Davis, unfortunately, had different ideas.

As Mike Conley went for the game-tying three, Davis hit the Minnesota guard as he was going out of bounds. An ensuing foul call put Conley at the line for three free throws he would make with little issue. The Lakers — and everyone watching at home — were undoubtedly unhappy with Davis.

Phew. You just cannot put yourself in that kind of situation at the end of the game while protecting a lead. Fortunately for Davis, the Lakers would eventually win 108-102 in overtime to clinch a spot in the first round of the playoffs.

But NBA fans didn’t soon forget Davis’ blunder that made them watch more of a terrible game.
