After Patrick Beverley was traded to the Timberwolves this summer, everyone wondered how long it was going to take him to get back to his petty antics in a new situation.
Perhaps quite predictably, it took one. Just a single game. Beverly is already back to being Beverley. Honestly, this has to be one of the least surprising things so far this season.
During Monday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans, Jonas Valanciunas was just trying to shoot a free throw. That was it. All he was trying to get done.
Then, out of nowhere, Beverley comes and bumps him for, well, no apparent reason. It was totally ridiculous.

Then the announcer had the nerve to say “that’s what I love about Pat Bev. He doesn’t take anything from anybody.”
But…what did Valanciunas do? I mean, maybe there’s some context missing here. But it seemed like Beverley just simply walks up and bumps him unprompted.
That doesn’t seem like a “doesn’t take anything from anybody” moment. That just seems like he was trying to be annoying.
And, if that was the case, he succeeded. Because this annoyed plenty of NBA fans.
