Beginning this week, teams will reportedly be permitted to host in-person meetings with prospects ahead of the 2020 NBA Draft on Nov. 18, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Previously, teams were prohibited from hosting in-person interviews with prospects due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic but the NBA has loosened restrictions recently in order to allow teams the opportunity to evaluate prospects. Teams were also banned from viewing workout footage prior to the NBA Draft.

In addition to allowing teams to conduct in-person meetings, the league announced last month that NBA Draft Combine would be conducted both in team markets and virtually through November. Prospects have the opportunity to take part in individual strength and agility testing, anthropometric measurements, shooting drills and a “Pro Day” video.

Teams can send up to three personnel members and one physician to the city a player is located and they can only meet with one prospect twice. The meetings can last up to four and a half hours and can include in-person evaluations and medical evaluations, according to ESPN.

According to the report, prospects, and those that travel with them to visits, must register a negative coronavirus test within 72 hours of the meeting. Players can bring up to three individuals with them during the visit, including agents and family members.
