Former Kentucky Wildcats guard Nate Sestina has been working out ahead of the upcoming 2020 NBA Draft in a private gym at a winery in Plymouth, California.
Sestina, who also played at Bucknell before transferring to Kentucky last year, was able to secure the space thanks to an old teammate. Matt O’Reilly, who played with Sestina at Bucknell, now works at the Casino Mine Ranch and asked his boss if Sestina could use the gym, to which he agreed to.
Sestina averaged 5.8 points and 3.8 rebounds in 28 games played with the Wildcats last season. He said in an interview with The Daily Item that he has received good offers to play overseas but is committed to trying to make an NBA roster.
Wildcats head coach John Calipari said in March that he was proud of the work Sestina put in over the past year at Kentucky and that he showed great leadership throughout the season. Calipari believes Sestina will have professional opportunities to play in the future.
The NBA previously announced that the 2020 NBA Draft would be tentatively scheduled for Oct. 15 while the league is in discussions to host a Combine-like event in Orlando during the last week of August.
Sestina is not projected to be selected in the latest 2020 Rookie Wire NBA Mock Draft.
