Eleven players in the NBA tested positive for the coronavirus since Jan. 13, the league announced on Wednesday.
There were 502 players tested over the past week. Anyone who tested positive or was in close contact with someone who was has been asked to isolate.
There has been an increase in positive tests over the last few weeks, which has been reflected in the many postponements around the league.
On Jan. 7, the NBA reported there were four positive COVID-19 tests among the 498 players tested over that week. On Jan. 13, the league reported 16 new positive coronavirus tests over that week.
The Oklahoma City Thunder have not had any positive tests during these weeks, but they were affected nonetheless. Their game that had been scheduled against the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday was postponed when the Sixers could not put together an active roster of eight players due to positive tests and contact tracing protocols.
