NBA announces that 283 players filed as early entry draft candidates

The number of players that declared is down from last year when 353 total prospects declared as early entry candidates.

The NBA announced that 283 players, including 247 collegiate players and 36 international prospects, have filed as early entry candidates for the 2022 NBA draft on June 23.

The number of players that declared is down from last year when 353 total prospects declared as early entry candidates. The list does not include those that are classified as draft-eligible, such as players signed to the NBA G League Ignite or Overtime Elite.

Players had until April 24 to file as early entry candidates.

The early entry candidates can now test the pre-draft process and obtain feedback from teams during workouts and interviews. They have until June 1 to withdraw from the draft and maintain their remaining collegiate eligibility.

The NBA draft combine is scheduled to run this year from May 16-22 in Chicago, Illinois. Additionally, the draft lottery will also take place in Chicago on May 17 as the process this year reflects a more traditional schedule.
