The methods the NBA is using to protect their players and finish the 2019-20 NBA season appear to be serving their intended purpose, with the latest batch of testing among NBA players on the Walt Disney World campus coming back clean, among the 346 players who have been tested since July 13.
The NBA announced the latest results of their coronavirus testing on Monday, saying that there have been no new infections on the Disney World campus. Last week, the league announced there were two positive cases at the campus, but both happened while players were in quarantine in their hotel rooms and not while they were free to move in the NBA bubble.
Two NBA players have been quarantined for violating the campus protocols and leaving the grounds of their hotels, Houston’s Bruno Caboclo and Sacramento’s Richaun Holmes. All of the other cases of NBA players testing positive for the coronavirus have occurred prior to their arrivals at the NBA campus at Disney World.
It’s still early, but with 11 days left until the start of real NBA games, it does appear that the NBA’s protocols to ensure they can finish the season appear to be working.
