NBA All-Star Weekend officially tipped off on Friday as 28 of the top up-and-coming players hit the court for the Rising Stars game in Salt Lake City, Utah.
New Orleans Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado was named MVP of the event to lead Team Pau to the championship trophy. He scored 13 points in the semifinal and followed it up with some clutching shooting in the final over Team Joakim.
The festivities now turn to Saturday with a jam-packed schedule on deck.
The evening will once again begin with the Skills Challenge, a three-round competition consisting of three teams of three players. The 3-Point Contest will follow with the Slam Dunk Contest wrapping up the festivities at Vivint Arena.
