After Steph Curry capped his 2022 All-Star Game performance in Cleveland, the NBA didn’t have a tough decision to make when it came down to the contest’s Most Valuable Player.
Following Team LeBron’s victory over Team Durant, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver named the Golden State Warriors point guard the 2022 All-Star Game MVP.
Curry became the first player to be presented with the brand new Kobe Bryant Most Valuable Player trophy. The newly designed trophy in honor of Bryant debuted this year in Cleveland.

Curry finished the 2022 All-Star Game with a game-high 50 points on 17-of-30 shooting from the field with five boards, two assists, two blocks and a steal in 36 minutes. On the way to 50 points, Curry shattered the record for most made 3-pointers in a single All-Star Game with a red-hot 16 triples on Sunday.
Curry fell only two points shy of matching Anthony Davis’ All-Star single-game scoring record of 52 from 2017.
The 33-year-old guard became the fifth member of the Warriors to win All-Star Game MVP and the first since Kevin Durant in 2019. Prior to Durant’s All-Star MVP performance, Rick Barry was the last member of the Warriors to win the award in 1967.
During his career at All-Star weekend, Curry has now recorded wins at the 3-Point Shooting Contest and the Skills Competition, along with his All-Star Game MVP award.
