The reveal of NBA 2K ratings has turned into a right of passage for newcomers to the association.
For the Golden State Warriors, No. 2 overall draft pick James Wiseman will be added to the roster with a new 2K rating. The Memphis product will slide in after Eric Paschall as the sixth highest-rated Warrior with a 77 overall.
Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Kelly Oubre Jr., Andrew Wiggins, Draymond Green and Paschall rank higher than Wiseman on the Warriors roster. The rookie ranks just in front of Golden State’s veteran centers Marquese Chriss and Kevon Looney.
Wiseman joins fellow top picks Anthony Edwards from the Minnesota Timberwolves and LaMelo Ball of the Charlotte Hornets as the three highest-rated rookies in the game with 77s.
After grabbing 32 boards in a three-game stint with the Memphis Tigers, Wiseman has earned the title of “glass cleaner” in 2K21.

Although Wiseman will likely miss all of Golden State’s preseason, the 19-year-old center will have the chance to increase his 2K rating when the Warriors open the season against Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets on Dec. 22.
As he competes for minutes in Steve Kerr’s rotation with Looney and Chriss, the Warriors will need Wiseman to blossom into a factor in the frontcourt for a chance to return to the postseason.
If the former five-star recruit can live up to the hype, Wiseman’s rating will likely grow quickly as he learns from Curry and Green in the Bay Area.
