The AFC Championship between the Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals started with one of the best versions of the national anthem you’ll hear anytime soon.
United States Navy Veteran Generald Wilson belted out a lovely take on the national anthem pre-game. He’s become an NFL favorite to sing the country’s anthem and is no stranger to the Kansas City crowd.
It’s just one of those performances that still make you happy sporting event organizers find people like Wilson who have such an uncanny ability to bring the song to life in the most amazing way.
To boot, Wilson is a Chiefs fan, and Sunday was his birthday.
Not being biased, however, this is how you sing the National Anthem. Retired Navy Petty Officer First Class Generald Wilson performs the National Anthem on January 29th, 2023 pic.twitter.com/jM37njdQxg

Seriously, this really was a beautiful rendition of the national anthem. It’s one thing to get a popular singer to belt “The Star-Spangled Banner,” but it’s another to get a professional singer who knows the song by heart.
