Oh boy, here we go again with one of those “the batter is out because he ran inside the baseline which means he got in the way of the throw so interference” calls.
Washington Nationals shortstop Trea Turner ran to first in a dropped third strike situation, but umpires called him out because they through he blocked the throw to first. Sounds familiar? Remember what happened in the 2019 World Series with … Trea Turner?
Manager Davey Martinez was irate, and I say rightfully so! Turner didn’t look like he was running anywhere inside the baseline here. So Martinez came out, argued his case, was thrown out … and then took out first base and furiously slammed it and kicked it:
