It was ugly, but Michigan State picked up the season-opening victory over Florida Atlantic on Friday.
Michigan State used a stifling defensive effort to overcome offensive struggles in its 16-10 victory vs. Florida Atlantic. The win was the first for new head coach Jonathan Smith at Michigan State.
