The Nashville Predators (5-4-0) face the Edmonton Oilers (7-1-0) Wednesday at Rogers Place in Edmonton. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Predators vs. Oilers odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.
The Predators have won four games in a row, including a 3-2 overtime victory in Calgary Tuesday in the first stop of its six-game road trip. Nashville has outscored the opposition 14-7 during the four-game win streak.
The Oilers pounded the expansion Seattle Kraken by a 5-2 count last time out Monday. That outcome was a lot better than their previous game at home against the Philadelphia Flyers as they were dropped 5-3 Oct. 27 for their only loss.

Predators at Oilers projected goalies
Connor Ingram (1-0-0, 2.02 GAA, .943 SV%) vs. Mikko Koskinen (5-1-0, 2.21 GAA, .933 SV%)
Ingram won his NHL debut in Minnesota Oct. 24, turning aside 33 of 35 shots. Starter Juuse Saros should get a much-needed rest against the high-octane Oilers after he was the backstop Tuesday against the Flames.
Koskinen has allowed 2 or fewer goals in four of his six starts this season, including last time out against Seattle when he allowed just 2 goals on 29 shots.
Predators at Oilers odds, lines, picks and predictions
Prediction
Oilers 5, Predators 2
Money line
The OILERS (-205) are a little above my normal personal money line limit, but it isn’t a terribly risky play behind Koskinen at home. Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and company should give the young Predators backstop nightmares.
Against the spread
The OILERS -1.5 (+135) cashed the puck line last time out against Seattle, and three of Edmonton’s last four victories have been by 2 or more goals. Edmonton is a good bet, as it’s 4-1 in the past five meetings with Nashville overall, with the favorite going 13-5, and it’s cashed the puck line in three of those victories.
Over/Under
OVER 6.5 (-112) is the lean, ever so slightly. The Over has cashed in five of the last seven on the road for Nashville dating back to last season. It’s been “all Over, all the time” for Edmonton, going 4-0 in its last four at home, and 5-1 in its last six following a victory.
