NASCAR has held the Busch Light Clash at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum since the 2022 season, and it has been a success. The NASCAR Cup Series competed around the 0.25-mile track, providing better racing every year. However, with the Busch Light Clash unlikely to return to Los Angeles, a shocking race track emerged as a candidate for the 2025 season.
According to The Athletic’s Jordan Bianchi, Bowman Gray Stadium has emerged as a viable candidate to host NASCAR’s Busch Light Clash to begin the 2025 season. In 2023, NASCAR acquired the lease to manage Bowman Gray Stadium through 2050, but the sport never promised that any of the top 3 levels would ever compete at the race track.
It is very, very unlikely for NASCAR to hold a points race at Bowman Gray Stadium, so the Busch Light Clash would be a good alternative as an exhibition event. With the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum likely out of the picture, it will be interesting to see if NASCAR goes to Bowman Gray Stadium or returns to Daytona International Speedway for the event.
