The Genesys 300 at Atlanta Motor Speedway seemed to be shaping up to be a duel between Kyle Busch and Chase Elliott midway through the race, but both Cup Series stars had accidents late in the race that ruined their days.
Busch won both of the opening two stages in the race, but suffered damage when he was unable to avoid the slow car of Jordan Anderson and hit the outside wall. Anderson had hit the wall ahead of Busch, but Busch had already committed to running the high line and had nowhere to go. To make matters worse, Busch was penalized twice for speeding on pit road, leaving him well down the order.

Austin Hill was just a few laps away from winning the race with a big lead, but a mistake by Chase Elliott changed the outcome of the race. While running in the top five, Elliott lost control of his car and spun in a corner, bringing out the caution to set up a green-white-checkered finish.
