The 2024 NASCAR season is complete, meaning it’s time to look forward to 2025! NASCAR silly season is well underway in the Cup Series, so it’s time to recap the big moves and talk about what is ahead for the race teams that haven’t finalized their plans for 2025. First, which NASCAR drivers are moving to a different team next year?
Chase Briscoe (Joe Gibbs Racing), Shane van Gisbergen (Trackhouse Racing), Cole Custer (Haas Factory Team), Noah Gragson (Front Row Motorsports), Michael McDowell (Spire Motorsports), A.J. Allmendinger (Kaulig Racing), Ty Dillon (Kaulig Racing), and Josh Berry (Wood Brothers Racing) will all be on new teams in 2025.
Meanwhile, 23XI Racing’s third car is the biggest story, as the team goes through with its lawsuit against NASCAR. Riley Herbst is the “top candidate” for the ride, but who knows what happens with the lawsuit. Also, Ryan Preece is the top candidate to join RFK Racing in a third car with Kroger as a likely sponsor.
The last full-time ride with questions is Front Row Motorsports’ third car, which points to Zane Smith as the expected driver. Yet, the NASCAR team is in the same boat as 23XI Racing with its lawsuit. Most of the 2025 Cup Series driver lineup is set, but there are still a few rides that are waiting to be finalized, with two of the three being affected by the ongoing antitrust lawsuit.
