NASCAR reveals timeline of a new manufacturer joining the Cup Series

NASCAR reveals the timeline of a new manufacturer joining the Cup Series. When could a new manufacturer, such as Honda, join the Cup Series?

NASCAR has been pushing for a fourth manufacturer to join the sport, and it appears to be getting closer. Rumors of Honda joining NASCAR have heated up over the last few months, but it likely wouldn’t be until the 2025 season. However, a more firm timeline on when a new manufacturer could join the sport has been made available.

According to Sportsnaut’s Matt Weaver, John Probst, NASCAR chief racing development officer, said on SiriusXM Radio that a timeline for a fourth manufacturer joining the sport is “somewhere in the 18 to 24-month period.” Currently, NASCAR has Chevrolet, Ford, and Toyota as its manufacturers after Dodge left the racing series.

The hope is that NASCAR can get Honda a part of the mix, as the momentum seems to be going in that direction. The sport has been growing due to several good decisions by NASCAR, and another manufacturer in the Cup Series would be fantastic. Time will tell if that is Honda, but the sport is trending in the right direction.
