NASCAR is set to arrive at the Talladega Superspeedway for the 31st weekend of the 2024 Cup Series season. It will be the second date at the venue this season, as NASCAR goes to Talladega twice per year. This will be a crucial event as it represents the second Cup Series race in the Round of 12 during the NASCAR playoffs.

First, the Cup Series needs to qualify for the event at Talladega, and the qualifying format is simple. Every driver makes a single-lap run in the first round, which will determine the 10 competitors moving on to the final round. Then, those drivers will fight it out to set the lineup for the top 10 starters. The metric system determines the qualifying order.
