NASCAR linked to potential race at new Qiddiya venue in Saudi Arabia

NASCAR has been linked to a potential race at the newly proposed Qiddiya racing circuit in Saudi Arabia near the end of the decade.

NASCAR has been bold with its schedules over the last few years, and it could include a future race overseas. According to Sports Business Journal’s Adam Stern, NASCAR was listed as one of the series that has discussed a race at the newly proposed Qiddiya racing circuit in Saudi Arabia. The venue could open as soon as 2028, near the decade’s end.

As of now, there is no firm deal for NASCAR to race in Saudi Arabia, but this shouldn’t be a shocking development. The sport is open to taking the best drivers in the United States to different countries, which is being displayed by a race weekend in Mexico City next season. NASCAR also wants to go north and race in Canada but hasn’t been able to complete a deal.

Yet, a race in Saudi Arabia would certainly be one of NASCAR’s boldest decisions to this point. Stern said the sport declined to comment on the potential deal. It remains to be seen whether NASCAR actually commits to a race at the newly proposed Qiddiya racing circuit in Saudi Arabia, but the sport will continue to evaluate every option available moving forward.
