There used to be a time in NASCAR when the Cup Series schedule didn’t change much. However, those days have ended as the sport looks to make bold decisions with its calendar. Over the last two years, NASCAR typically releases the schedule later in the season, but the 2025 Cup Series schedule could be out sooner rather than later.
According to The Athletic’s Jordan Bianchi, NASCAR “hopes” to announce the 2025 Cup Series schedule in May. This would be shocking as the sport released the last two schedules in September and October, respectively. This would occur before the summer months, giving fans and tracks plenty of time to prepare for next season.
There are expected to be some big changes as the Busch Light Clash is unlikely to return to the Los Angeles Coliseum. Meanwhile, Richmond Raceway is a frontrunner to lose one NASCAR date with talks being held with Mexico and Canada. It will be fascinating to see what happens, and hopefully, NASCAR can release the schedule in the coming weeks.
