NASCAR is fresh off an exciting weekend of racing at Texas Motor Speedway, where the sport saw Chase Elliott survive overtime for his first victory of the season. Now, the racing series is set for Talladega Superspeedway. The NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series will participate on track, so let’s take a closer look at the entry lists released for Talladega.
In the Cup Series, there are significant changes after a 38-car field at Texas. Anthony Alfredo (Beard Motorsports) and B.J. McLeod (Live Fast Motorsports) join the show as open entries. Meanwhile, Cody Ware (No. 15 for Rick Ware Racing) and Shane van Gisbergen (No. 16 for Kaulig Racing) are the two drivers for the teams with no full-time driver and a charter.

The Xfinity Series sees an influx of young and veteran drivers, with Taylor Gray and Ryan Truex running for Joe Gibbs Racing. Most notably, Jeffrey Earnhardt (Sam Hunt Racing) returns to the series, while Matt DiBenedetto (Viking Motorsports) receives another start in the No. 38 car. Overall, one driver will miss the show with 39 entries at Talladega.
The race weekend in Talladega will begin on Friday, April 19. NASCAR is returning to superspeedway racing after two races to start the year, and everyone is curious how it will look after a two-month break.
