Several rumors have surrounded the Busch Light Clash at The Coliseum over the last week. With NASCAR unofficially beginning its 2024 season in Los Angeles, California, the thought of next year’s event has already crossed many minds. This includes NASCAR, who wants to bring the Clash outside the United States. But, what about another familiar location?
According to The Athletic, the Busch Light Clash’s return to Daytona International Speedway is possible if these major plans by NASCAR do not pan out. It takes a lot of work to complete a deal for an international event, and NASCAR saw that with its negotiations involving Montreal. A race in Mexico or another country is a tough ask.
So, if NASCAR cannot secure a deal, the Busch Light Clash could return to where it was held from 1979 to 2021. Daytona is a perfect place for the Busch Light Clash as it could be run during Speedweeks, but it depends on what else occurs. NASCAR has bold plans for the event’s future, and Daytona could be waiting for a while if they do work out.
