NAC extends temporary suspension for Dana White Contender Series alum after failed drug test

NAC extends Michael Imperato’s temporary suspension following a failed drug test in connection with his Dana White’s Contender Series loss in August.

The Nevada Athletic Commission has issued an extension on the temporary suspension of [autotag]Michael Imperato[/autotag]. The NAC reached the decision at Tuesday’s monthly meeting.

Imperato (12-7) failed urinalysis for stanozolol, an anabolic steroid prohibited at all times on the World Anti-Doping Agency list, in connection with his Dana White’s Contender Series debut on Aug. 20 in Las Vegas.

Imperato, who entered the DWCS bout coming off a submission win over veteran Ricky Bandejas, lost a unanimous decision to Cortavious Romious and was not awarded a UFC contract. Imperato’s official suspension was issued Sept. 19. and possible disciplinary action remains pending for a future meeting.
