Cleveland Browns franchise star Myles Garrett is entering his prime as he is currently the front-runner for the Defensive Player of the Year award. On Friday, he told reporters how he plans to compete at this level for the rest of his career.
Garrett has consulted with many of the greatest of all time, including Cleveland legend LeBron James, on maintaining his current level of play. What elevated those athletes the most was how long their peaks were compared to their peers, who couldn’t last as long. Hopefully, Aaron Rodgers didn’t joke too much with Garrett about recovery. The quarterback jokingly told the media that he was using dolphin soundscapes to promote the healing of Rodgers’ torn Achilles.
“I mean, he’s [LeBron James] a big influencer for as long as he’s done it. I got in contact with his people to help set up the team that I have now. So, he’s a major influence. (Christiano) Ronaldo, (Lionel) Messi, (Tom) Brady, (Aaron) Rogers, all those guys for such a long time at a high competitive level, also were influences to me to get a step ahead, be proactive about my health and wellness and take care of this thing.”
Garrett has a strong and diverse team of highly skilled performance specialists that keep him sharp all year around. Garrett has left no stone unturned in his search to maximize his training. He has a chef to keep him eating healthy, multiple trainers, and multiple physical therapists to help him recover. The NFL posted a video showing Garrett’s team working with him over the offseason.
