Myles Garrett give three-word answer on why he’s the NFL’s best defensive player

Garrett gave a certain, dominant response when asked if he was the best defensive player in the NFL

The Cleveland Browns play home to a future first-ballot Pro Football Hall of Famer in defensive end Myles Garrett.

Despite his uncertainty after this season, what Garrett has done with the Browns has been the beacon of dominance since he was drafted first overall in the 2017 NFL draft. This culminated in him winning his first NFL Defensive Player of the Year award in 2023 and six Pro Bowls.

Looking to lock down his second straight honor with a big showing this weekend against the Baltimore Ravens, Garrett was asked the question on if he thought he was the best defensive player in the NFL. And he gave a clear and concise three-word answer that does the rest of the talking (via Camryn Justice):

“Check the tape.”

Garrett leads the NFL in sacks, tied with Trey Hendrickson of the Cincinnati Bengals with 14. This marks the fourth straight season that Garrett has amassed 14 sacks or more, making him the first player in NFL history to do so.

It’s hard to argue with the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year. The tape speaks for itself.
