Myjai Sanders salary, contract details, salary cap implications

Sanders, drafted in the third round, gets a four-year deal worth $5.05 million.

The Arizona Cardinals the second of their two third-round draft picks to select linebacker Myjai Sanders out of Cincinnati. He was drafted with the 87th overall pick, the selection acquired as part of the trade for receiver Marquise Brown.

Sanders signed his four-year rookie contract recently.

Myjai Sanders contract details

Sanders’ contract is for four years and is worth a little more than $5.04 million.

He receives a signing bonus of $849,020. It is the only guaranteed money of his contract. None of his yearly salaries are guaranteed.

He will make the league’s minimum salary in 2022 at $705,000. That increases to more than $934,000 in 2023, then to more than $1.16 million in 2024 and then to more than $1.39 million in 2025.

Salary cap information

Sanders’ signing bonus is prorated for cap purposes over the four years of the contract. His cap hit each year will be his salary plus the prorated amount of his bonus.

His cap hit will be the following each year:

  • 2022: more than $917,000
  • 2023: $1.15 million
  • 2024: $1.38 million
  • 2025: $1.61 million
