Multiple 49ers players admitted they didn’t understand the Super Bowl overtime rules

Well this is bad.

The NFL’s overtime rules changed last year for the postseason, and those applied to the Super Bowl: No matter what happens in the first possession of the extra period — field goal, touchdown, except for a defensive score — the other team will get a possession to try and tie or win.
