Michigan State’s 2000 National Championship winning team is considered one of the best title capturing squads in the last 20 years.
With the Final Four taking place this weekend, Andy Katz of NCAA.com ranked the top National Championship teams since 2000 — and the 2000 Spartans came in at No. 7 on his list. The Spartans are ranked right behind the 2005 North Carolina Tar Heels and 2003 Syracuse Orange.

I don’t have much of an objection with Katz’ list except at the top where I’d have the 2009 North Carolina Tar Heels as the top squad. That, of course, was the team that beat Michigan State for the National Championship at Ford Field in Detroit.
