Michigan State basketball is starting to get some recognition after a strong showing in Maui.
The Spartans remain unranked (for now) in both the Associated Press and Coaches polls, but Gary Parrish of CBS Sports has Michigan State in his top 25. Parrish releases a daily “Top 25 And 1” rankings, and on Sunday he had Michigan State at No. 15.
Of Big Ten teams, Michigan State is only behind Purdue (No. 7), Wisconsin (No. 9) and Oregon (No. 11).
Michigan State is 6-2 overall on the year following a strong showing in Maui. The Spartans picked up a pair of wins in the three-game tournament, including a notable overtime victory over North Carolina in the third-place game.
