Movsar Evloev vs. Dan Ige targeted for UFC event in June

A key featherweight bout pitting Dan Ige vs. Movsar Evloev is in the works.

The unbeaten rising featherweight is being targeted to fight veteran [autotag]Dan Ige[/autotag] at a UFC event planned for June 4. Two people with knowledge of the situation confirmed the news to MMA Junkie on Tuesday following an initial report from ESPN.

Evloev (15-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC) was scheduled to fight Ilia Topuria on Jan. 22 at UFC 270, but he was forced to withdraw from the bout because of a positive COVID-19 test. The 27-year-old last competed in June when he defeated Hakeem Dawodu in a unanimous decision at UFC 263. Evloev has yet to taste defeat since turning professional in 2014.

Meanwhile, Ige (15-5 MMA, 7-4 UFC) is coming off a decision loss to fellow veteran Josh Emmett at UFC 269 in December. Ige now finds himself on a two-fight skid and 1-3 in his past four trips to the octagon. His last win came in March when he knocked out Gavin Tucker in just 22 seconds to earn a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus.
