Yet when Andy Staples asked the question on Twitter on Tuesday, famous Auburn fan Robert Gibbs, who served as the White House Press Secretary from 2009-11, had another play on his mind.

A minute later, Burns converts another on 3rd down and 9. A few plays later Auburn finally gets on the board, scoring a touchdown and cutting the lead.

Gibbs makes an excellent point. Everything was going awful for the Tigers up until that moment. If Auburn goes into the locker room down 24-0 (or even worse) rather than having some momentum from the touchdown, who knows if they would have had the comeback in them.
