The Kansas City Chiefs are not having a fun 2021.
A year that began with a Super Bowl loss has dissolved into a nightmare follow-up season in which the Chiefs struggle to stop even the least intimidating offenses. Kansas City is 3-4 and in danger of sliding to the fringes of playoff contention despite a star-laden roster led by an MVP quarterback.
So here come the New York Giants to fix things.
The 2-5 Giants aren’t quite the easy win Chiefs fans may have expected when they looked at the schedule back in August — no one is, considering how Kansas City’s been playing — but they’ll provide a tremendous opportunity for Patrick Mahomes and company to right their ship after an uneven start to the season. The Chiefs’ brand has been unforced errors and stupid mistakes; now they get to play a team all too familiar with those tenets.
New York is looking to build momentum after stomping out the Carolina Panthers last week. Handing the reigning AFC champions a prime time loss on their home turf would certainly accomplish that — and it would help keep head coach Joe Judge and general manager Dave Gettleman employed at least a few weeks longer.
Can they get it done? Let’s talk about it. All odds via Tipico
