With two top-10 picks in the 2024 NBA Draft, the San Antonio Spurs should be able to bring in some solid young prospects to help Victor Wembanyama move forward into the future with a chance to be great. Travis Branham of CBS Sports wrote a mock draft that has the Spurs taking Stephon Castle with the eighth pick. And it’s not the first time this has been mocked.
“The Spurs are building a roster around superstar Victor Wembanyama and want to add young talent at No. 8 to grow alongside their Frenchman,” Branham wrote. “While Castle isn’t the best available on the board, there’s a lot to like about his upside. He displayed versatility at UConn in 2023-24 and under the Spurs’ development program, has a chance to be San Antonio’s point guard of the future.”
Castle could be a solid point guard at the NBA level, and it would make sense for the Spurs to take a chance on him.
If they can also nail their fourth pick, snagging Castle at eight would be a good idea.
