Mitch Trubisky played so horribly on TNF that Steelers fans chanted for the equally awful Mason Rudolph

Steelers fans are not having a good time right now.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have officially reached quarterback rock bottom.

The Patriots are a bad football team, and the Steelers have been a surprise AFC Wild Card contender this season. However, things got a bit out of hand for Pittsburgh behind center as the team hosted the Pats at home on Thursday Night Football.

As second-string quarterback Mitch Trubisky struggled against the lowly  Patriots, Steelers fans began chanting for third-string quarterback Mason Rudolph to enter the game.

With underperforming 2022 first-round pick Kenny Pickett sidelined with an injury, Steelers fans resorted to wanting the team’s third quarterback to play over Trubisky, the proper backup. Yes, it really had gotten that bad.

There’s really not a lot you can do in a situation like this if you’re a Pittsburgh fan. Pickett was already not playing well, and now you’ve got the backup quarterback in Trubisky struggling against a team with two wins in December.

Rudolph is most assuredly not the answer for the Steelers right now, but fans will literally chant for any player to give themselves some false sense of agency to feel like any sort of change will automatically make things better.

Until then, Steelers fans will gripe while one of their quarterbacks plays poorly and call for the next guy to come in and basically play the same way.
