Missouri defeats No. 2 Tennessee in SEC opener.

Missouri (14-3, 1-0 SEC) defeated No. 2 Tennessee (15-4, 0-1 SEC), 9-1, Friday at Taylor Stadium in Columbia, Missouri.

The Vols fell behind early as the Tigers scored four runs in the first inning with four extra-base hits.

Dalton Bargo and Trevor Austin hit RBI doubles in the inning inning before Hank Zeisler hit a scoring triple and Juju Stevens drove in a run on a groundout.

In the third inning, Missouri extended its advantage to 4-0.

The Vols pulled to within 3-1 when second baseman Christian Moore hit a solo home run in the sixth inning.

Moore hit two of Tennessee’s three hits and Maui Ahuna added a single for the Vols.

Dylan Leach hit an RBI single in the sixth inning and drove in another run with a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning for the Tigers. Missouri scored two runs in the eighth inning.
