Minnesota Vikings waive linebacker Chazz Surratt

Another 2021 Vikings draft pick hits the waiver wire

The Minnesota Vikings continue to cut ties with their 2021 draft class by waiving their second third-round pick of the day in Chazz Surratt.

A former quarterback for North Carolina, Surratt moved to linebacker when Sam Howell came to campus. He was a two-time All-ACC defender and had an ideal athletic profile.

The issue with Surratt is that he wasn’t anywhere close to strong enough to play the position with any kind of success. Surratt can’t shed a block to save his life and it hindered any kind of success he would have.

Surratt is the third 2021 draft pick the Vikings have moved on from today, as both Janarius Robinson and Kellen Mond.
