Only seven NFL teams have longer odds than the Vikings’ +15000. They share the longest odds in the NFC North with the Detroit Lions (3-4). The Packers are tied for the sixth-best odds overall at +1200, while the Chicago Bears (5-3) are +5000. At the start of training camp, Minnesota had the 11th-best odds in the NFL at +2200.

RB Dalvin Cook (652 rushing yards, 10 TDs) has been the Vikings’ star through the first half of the season. His 652 yards rank second in the NFL, behind only Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry (775 yards, 8 TDs), who has played one more game. Cook ran for 163 yards with 4 total touchdowns in the Week 8 win against the Packers. He had a season-high 181 yards with just 1 score in a 31-30 loss to the Titans in Week 3.

QB Kirk Cousins has completed 65.6% of his passes for 1,635 yards and 12 touchdowns with 10 interceptions. His top receivers have been rookie Justin Jefferson (563 yards, 3 TDs) and Adam Thielen (442 yards, 7 TDs).

On defense, LB Eric Kendricks is third in the NFL with 78 tackles. As a team, the Vikes are yielding 30.6 PPG to rank 29th.

The Vikings are 4-3 against the spread with a 5-2 Over/Under record.

Vikings division betting odds

  • Packers -358
  • Bears +350
  • Lions +1600
  • Vikings +2200

The Vikings have already played the Packers twice, but they still have two games apiece against the Bears and Lions. The first Bears matchup is a Monday nighter in Chicago in Week 10. Meanwhile, the Packers and Bears haven’t played yet – they’re scheduled to meet in Weeks 12 and 17.

Outside of the division, the Vikings have two tough road games: At the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-2) in Week 14 and at the New Orleans Saints (5-2) in Week 16 on Christmas Day.

Vikings futures picks and predictions

YES, a small wager on the Vikings (+15000) wouldn’t be terrible, especially with what Cook can do. The defense will need to improve, but with their remaining schedule, this isn’t a bad bet.

YES, betting the Vikes to win the NFC NORTH at +2200 is a decent bet. With two games apiece against the Bears and Lions, they can bypass those two in the standings. They’ll need to at least split their games against the Bucs and Saints and then they’ll need the Packers to lose a few more games. It’s definitely possible with Cook running the ball.
