Minnesota Vikings off to best start since 2016 NFL season

First, the team broke its losing streak in the preseason, and now it is off to its best start since the 2016 season.

The Minnesota Vikings have surprised some by starting their season 2-0. Quarterback play has exceeded expectations, and the defense is playing out of its mind under Brian Flores’s coaching. Add all those factors and others we haven’t listed, and the Vikings are off to a historic start.

First, the team broke its losing streak in the preseason, and now it is off to its best start since the 2016 season.

Ironically, that same season the team went undefeated in the preseason just as the Vikings did in 2024. The team would start 5-0 before a Week 6 bye, the Vikings also have a Week 6 bye this year.

Following the bye week, the team would go a disappointing 3-8 and finish the season third place in the division to miss the playoffs. Fans will obviously be hoping for a reverse of fortune, as everyone can agree that this Vikings team feels different through two weeks of the season.
