Prediction

Heat 126, Timberwolves 110

Moneyline (ML)

This is a scheduled victory for the Heat (-556), who are coming off a 125-119 overtime loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers Monday. It was the second half of a home-and-home, with the Heat winning 124-105 at AmericanAirlines Arena Saturday. The Heat are just 4-6 over their last 10 games, but they’re still 23-3 on home court and outscore their opposition by an average of 116.9-106 (plus-10.9) in Miami.

The ‘Wolves (+400) have lost another five in a row, including a 139-123 defeat on the road against the Dallas Mavericks Monday. They’re just 9-19 on the road for the season and 1-18 over their last 19 games overall. Minnesota isn’t winning this game and we’re not getting any value with Miami. PASS and look to the spread.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

Back the HEAT (-9.5, -115), who are just 30-25-2 against the spread overall but 18-7-1 at home. The T-Wolves (+9.5, -106) are 19-35-2 ATS overall and 13-14-1 on the road. Minnesota has lost its last two games by more than 11 points, while Miami’s last three home wins came by margins of at least 19 points.

The Heat are 16-6-1 ATS as a home favorite, winning those games by an average of 11.4 points and covering the spread by an extra 4.5 points on average. The Wolves are just 15-22-1 ATS when playing on equal rest as their opponent.

Over/Under (O/U)

Take the OVER 230.5 (-115) even with the injuries on the Miami side of the ball. The Heat are 34-22-1 against the projected total for the season, and they top the number by an average of 3.9 points per game. The Wolves are 32-24 against the number and top projections by an average of 3.7 PPG.
